Englemere DFAS is a member of NADFAS (the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies) the leading arts charity established for furthering knowledge and appreciation of the arts.

  • Based in ASCOT, Berkshire with a thriving and lively membership of 200+.
  • Monthly lecture meetings held on the second Tuesday evening of each month (except August and December).
  • Regular visits to stately homes, museums, exhibitions. In addition an annual guided tour in the UK or abroad.
  • The Lecturers are approved by NADFAS and are of high quality and are experts in their own field.

Renaissance Arms and Armour

at St George's School, Ascot.

Reception from 7:00 pm.

Lecture commences at 7:45 pm.

Tobias Capwell is Curator of Arms and Armour at the Wallace Collection in London and an internationally acknowledged expert on Medieval and Renaissance weapons.  He will introduce us to this art-form which not only demanded fantastic skill in the sculpting of iron and steel, but also mastery of all decorative techniques available to the Renaissance metalworker.
